# Retirement

A racehorse has a fixed maximum number of races it can compete in, and when the limit is reached, the horse is retired.

Retired horses can be used as stallions or mares to produce new foals.

Stallions can also be used for home breeding, but certain conditions are required, such as good performance, in order to sell them to the market at the syndicate gate.
